In the spring of 2018 I accepted an invitation to serve with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps at Xavier High School on an island called Weno in Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia. At least for my first year I will be teaching Chemistry and English, serving as a college counselor, and coaching girls basketball and volleyball. I depart in August 2018 to serve for two years in Chuuk.
What I will experience over the next two years will challenge, change, and amaze me as I go to a place I know little about to do a task that I have never done, but that is exactly why I know it’s where God is calling me to be. I invite you to join me on this journey and in this mission.
Some ways that you can walk with me over the next two years include:
- Pray – Pray for me, for Xavier High School, and for the Jesuit Volunteer Corps.
- Learn More – The “More Info” tab on this site has more information about where I will be and the organizations I will be working with along with links to their own websites.
- Keep in Touch – Check out the “Contact Me!” page on this blog for how to do that, and read my “Updates” when I post them.
- Donate – There are no financial contribution requirements to be a Jesuit Volunteer, but our living stipends are funded by donors like you. Please donate if you are able. My fundraising page is linked under the “Donate” tab.
Thank you for your love and support, and I can’t wait to take this journey together.
